Berth # 1 and # 2 of DaChan Bay Terminals Ready for Trial Operation

A meeting of Coordination on DaChan Bay Terminals (the Terminal) Trial Operation of Berth # 1 and # 2 was held at the Control Tower of the Terminal today. A panel organised by Shenzhen Port Office from authorities such as Shenzhen Customs, Shenzhen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of the P.R.C , Shenzhen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection of the P.R.C., Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration Bureau of the P.R.C. , and DaChan Bay Terminals (the Terminal) attended the meeting. The panel approved the trial operation for Berth # 1 and # 2 of the Terminal on the meeting.

Up to now, the 5 berths with respective design tonnage of 150,000 of the Terminal had been ready for trial operation or official operation respectively. Among them, Berth # 4 and # 5 was put into use in late 2007; Berth # 3 was put into trial operation in September 2008; while Berth # 1 and # 2 will be put into trial operation after this meeting.  There are all together 12 dual hoist tandem-lift quay cranes and 36 environmentally friendly electrical rubber-tyred gantries (E-RTG) equipped on site for the time being.
