MOL and Samudera Launch China-India Service at DaChan Bay

23 May 2011

DaChan Bay Terminals, the newest and first-class container terminal in West Shenzhen,  today warmly welcomed the maiden call of the China-India service (NCX) jointly operated by MOL and Samudera.  This is the first and only service launched in South China by Samudera.

The NCX service is also MOL’s first direct service linking Shanghai and Shenzhen to Nhava Sheva, after its Singapore Mumbai-Nhava Sheva Karachi Service has been modified into two loops.  MOL deploys 3 ships while Samudera deploys 1, with carrying capacity ranging from 2,000-2,700 TEUs, for this new service.

Mr. Andrew Milliken, Chief Executive Officer of DaChan Bay Terminals, commented: “The fact that an ever-increasing number of customers choose to partner with DaChan Bay Terminals for their business expansion in South China confirms the competitive advantages offered by our strategic location in this prime manufacturing hub.  We are confident that our partnership with customers will continue to deepen and broaden, with our first-class efficiency, professionalism and flexibility.”

The new China-India service provides weekly calls at DaChan Bay Terminals every Sunday, following a port rotation of: Shanghai - DaChan Bay - Hong Kong - Singapore - Nhava Sheva - Port Kelang - Singapore - Shanghai.
