DaChan Bay Terminals Welcomes the Maiden Call of the First String with Strong Confidence in the Business Outlook

24 January 2008

DaChan Bay Terminals takes pride in providing excellent services to "Pucon", container vessel of Compañía Sudamericana de Vapores (CSAV) paying her maiden call to the new terminal facility in Shenzhen, China, today (13th January 2008).  This vessel is being deployed for the weekly Asia-North Europe (ANE) service of CSAV NORASIA, which is the first string calling DaChan Bay Terminals since it opened in December 2007.

CSAV NORASIA is part of the CSAV Group, which is located in Valparaiso, Chile, and is currently the largest shipping company in Latin America.

The ANE service deploys 8 vessels with an average carrying capacity of 6,000 TEUs.  Its 56-day rotation covers Le Havre, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Port Kelang, Da Chan Bay Terminal One, and Qingdao in its eastbound service and other ports in westbound service.

CEO of DaChan Bay Terminals, Mr. Andrew Milliken, presented a souvenir to the Captain of Pucon to express a warm welcome to the customer on board the vessel upon its arrival at the quayside.

Mr. Milliken is confident about the prospect of DaChan Bay Terminals: "The Terminal is best located in Western Shenzhen with a fast growing hinterland - the Pan-Pearl River Delta.  We are expecting many more maiden calls of new services in 2008 with our operational efficiency and unsurpassed services."
