DaChan Bay Terminals PRD Barge Operator Seminar

11 September 2009

More than 80 representatives of barge operating enterprises from Pearl River Delta(PRD) gathered together at the control tower of DaChan Bay Terminals (the Terminal) this afternoon, attending the business seminar held specially for PRD barge operators.

A general introduction of the Terminal was given to the audience on the meeting at the beginning, followed by group discussions on topics such as suggestions and feedback for the previous cooperation with DaChan Bay Terminals, joint efforts in exploiting PRD market, reinforcing cooperation and communication with local Port authorities of PRD, and exploring possibilities for future cooperation on business development, etc..

Chief Executive Officer of DaChan Bay Terminals, Mr. Andrew Milliken said: “The best transportation method for connecting Shenzhen Port and the high-economic-growth west areas of Pearl River Delta is barge transport, which is both swift and cost saving. In the last few  years, the barge transportation network of west PRD had grown into the current mature scale  driven by market demand and it is still growing each year. DaChan Bay Terminals answered the call of the market and joined the South China Common Feeder Alliance (SCCFA) in March 2008. Different barge services were open then for easy access to west side of PRD, such as Foshan, Shunde, Zhongshan and Zhuhai. We are delighted to see more clients are ready to leverage the strategic location of DaChan Bay Terminals to serve the South China market.”

With the professional infrastructure design and state-of-the-art equipment, DaChan Bay Terminals is well-positioned to deliver customer-focused services and allow carriers to capture future growth in South China.
